Pond pump products are an essential part of any garden pond. The sustenance of the pond depends on them. Pumps are electrical gadgets which require a water resistant cord. The cord can be placed between the pond and an al fresco electrical vent. They are fixed under the water and they do not create any disturbing noise. Some people buy a particular pump not for the reason that it has superb water circulation ability but simply because of the sound it creates. Typically it is suggested to circulate the pond water once every two hours as this helps in preventing the stagnation of water. Just as ventilation is required in our rooms, pumps help in oxygenating the water for the fish and the plants. A pond which has both fish and waterfalls must use a high power pump.

There are several types of pond pump products available in the market. External Drive Pumps are used in large ponds and are installed outside the water. Statuary Pumps are particularly used to maneuver features such as water sprayers or fountains that give chronological water bursts. Magnetic Drive Pumps are more cost effective than the above two pumps. They may not be as powerful as the above mentioned pumps but they can also be used for waterfalls. Direct Drive Pumps are generally used for large waterfalls but they use up more electricity than other pumps. A person should ensure that he buys the best pump according to the needs of his pond and not spoil it just to save a few bucks. A person who is not sure about which pump to select can go for a multi-purpose pump.
